Lhotse was E1 of the Indian Survey, but appears to have had no local name either in Tibet or Nepal when Charles Howard-Bury's Everest reconnaissance team advanced along the Kama valley and northern edge of the Kangshung Glacier in August 1921. In the absence of an alternative, Howard-Bury's christened it Lho-tse, south peak in Tibetan as it laid to the south of Everest, separated from it by the South Col. Because of the name's Tibetan derivation it has stuck

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel

Day 04: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding, overnight camp
Day 05: Trek to Namche Bazaar, overnight camp
Day 06: Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar
Day 07: Trek to Tengboche & overnight camp
Day 08: Trek to Pheriche
Day 09: Trek to Lobuche.
Day 10: Lobuche to Lhotse Base Camp.
Day11: Base Camp Preparation
Day12-37: Climbing Period.
Day 38: Cleaning up Base Camp.
Day 39: Lhotse BC to Dingbuche
